I registered my domain name, how can I upload my site?

Registration of a domain name is the first step in hosting a site, but it doesn't automatically include web space!  By default we will typically point your domain name to an "under construction" page.  You will need to arrange for web hosting with us or another ISP of your choice in order to publish a web site.  Click here for web hosting information !

Don't I have to register domains with Network Solutions?

Not anymore.  Network Solutions (formerly INTERNIC) used to be the only company that could issue domain names in the .com, .net and .org space.  That changed , and there are now many competing registrars.

How can you offer domain names for only $25/year when they cost $35 elsewhere?

We purchase domain names at a wholesale rate and resell them.  Our overhead is much lower than other companies, so we can sell them less expensively.

Can I register my domain name with Got-Internet.com & Compu-Ad Internet Services and host my website with another ISP?

Absolutely, but why would you want to :} <grin>.  The domain name you register with us appears in the central registry and can be used to host your website anywhere.  Of course, we have some great hosting plans, and offer first-class service, so you might want to check out what we have to offer.

Are You an ICANN-accredited registrar?

No.  We are a Registration Service Provider" for Tucows, who is fully ICANN-accredited.  When you register a domain name with us, it will reflect TUCOWS as the official registrar.

I like the management console.  Can I transfer other domains that I've already registered over to Got-Internet.com & Compu-Ad Internet Services?

Yes!  The fee to transfer your domain is $25, and we extend the registration for transferred domains by one year.  BEFORE you do this please make sure that all domains reflect your correct e-mail address for notification.

How do domain transfers work?

When you submit an order to transfer a domain, you will be charged $25 up front.  An email is sent to the current administrative contact for the domain requesting permission to transfer domains.  When you receive this email, you must visit a website and enter a confirmation number to authorize the transfer.  Transfers are typically completed within 5-7 days.

Will transferring my domain disrupt my website operation?

Absolutely not.  When a domain transfers, all name server information transfers along with it, and your website is not impacted by it.  The domain name continues to resolve to an IP address the same way it always has.

Can I pay for my domain name registration with a Check or Money Order?
